Two labourers died after being hit by a high speed car

Azamgarh. Two labourers working at the paddy procurement centre were seriously injured after being hit by a car on Shahjerpur Mahul Road in the district’s Phulpur Kotwali area. At the time of the incident, both the labourers were going home from the paddy procurement centre at 7:30 pm. The police reached the spot and brought both the injured to the CHC, where the doctors declared them dead. The police have taken the car along with the driver into custody. After receiving the information, the family members also reached the hospital. Bhim (28) son of late Mahajan, a resident of Udpur in Phulpur Kotwali area and Ved Prakash Yadav (60) son of Munnar Yadav, a resident of Untwa village in the same Kotwali area, both worked as labourers at the paddy procurement centre located at Shahjer near Phulpur. On Monday evening, both were going home on a bicycle. As soon as they reached Shahjerpur village on Mahul Road, an uncontrolled car coming from Mahul hit them from behind. After the incident, the car collided with the stairs of a house on the roadside.Both were seriously injured in this incident. He was immediately sent to CHC for treatment where doctors declared him dead. Deceased Bhim has two sons and a daughter whereas deceased Ved Prakash has one son and three daughters. It is being said that the car was being driven by Arjun, son of woman Gram Pradhan Anita God of Gram Panchayat Bakspur Mejwa Block Phulpur. He was drunk. His other companions fled after the incident. Arjun has been caught.
