Nikhil Ruparel have condemned the behaviour of customs officials towards NRI Vasu shroff in Jaipur

Mumbai/Jaipur:Nikhil Ruparel, National Delegate of the NSUI & Preeti Choksi, Mumbai General Secretary of Mahila Congress, have jointly condemned the behavior of customs officials at Jaipur airport towards Non-Resident Indian (NRI) industrialist Vasu Shroff.

They have demanded the dismissal of the concerned customs officials.

The incident involved harsh treatment of Shroff, an 84-year-old industrialist and Chairman of Regal Group in Dubai, who had his 188-gram gold watch worth Rs 35.17 lakh confiscated despite showing purchase slips. Shroff was left on a wheelchair for four hours without adequate food, water, or medication.

Ruparel and Choksi emphasized the significant contribution of NRI industrialists to India’s development and condemned the inhumane treatment meted out to Shroff. They demanded action against the responsible officials, highlighting the need for respect and dignity towards NRIs.
