Bollywood actress Khushi Mukherjee who’s all set to star alongside Arbaaz Khan in upcoming movie ‘Mutra Visarjan Varjit Hai’ turns vegan & gives up on meat forever before ‘Bakhri Eid 2025’, talks about her self realisation and love for animals and faces trolling from Muslim fans on social media!

Bollywood actress Khushi Mukherjee who’s all set to be seen next in the upcoming movie ‘Mutra Visarjan Varjit Hai’ alongside Arbaaz Khan is currently winning the hearts of netizens all over the internet for her big life decision. Yes, that’s right. The actress who’s always been known for her empathetic and adorable nature has decided to turn completely vegan. The decision comes just a while before ‘Bakhri Eid 2025’ this year, a festival which is known for animal sacrifice and no wonder, netizens all over the country are admiring her immensely for her big decision. To give up on one’s food culture and bring a massive transformation to it immediately is no easy task and no wonder, Khushi deserves all the appreciation for the same. On being asked more about what triggered this decision of her’s and why she decided to do so immediately, Khushi got candid and shared,
“So it all started when I was casually surfing YouTube and suddenly, I saw a video on my feed which was showing how on the occasion of Bakhri Eid, goats are sacrificed. Maybe it hit my YouTube algorithm since Bakhri Eid is near and I happened to see it. The video made me tear up and realize that how we as humans, can literally become so selfish and cruel just for our food pleasure. I am guilty of being non vegetarian all my life and we only focus on the taste or the item. But that video made me look at the whole thing more from a humane point of view. So, I thought I needed to immediately change this, especially because I call myself an animal lover. I feel I can’t selectively and conveniently talk about animal love where on one hand, I enjoy eating chicken and meat. I don’t believe in hypocrisy. I feel change begins from yourself and if I change myself and share my thoughts behind the change, maybe someone too will feel inspired hearing my reason to change and then they will change themselves too. At the end of the day, I want to do my bit to make this world a better place for animals. That’s why, I have decided to completely turn vegan in my life. I hope slowly and steadily, more people give up eating meat. May God bless us all.”
The decision however hasn’t gone down well with some of her fans from the Muslim community who feel she made an indirect scathing attack against their religious practices. Soon after this decision, some of her Muslim fans decided to spew hate and troll her her decision. However, kudos to Khushi Mukherjee for taking such an incredibly brave decision. It’s never easy to sacrifice eating what you love but the way she decided to focus on the bigger picture of things and display a big heart is truly commendable.
