Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival to Represent India at the 2026 World Film Festival Congress in Istanbul
DPIFF receives official invitation from the prestigious Cinetour / World Film Festival Committee; Anil Mishra brings new global glory to Indian cinema.

Mumbai, November 13:It is a moment of pride and honor for Indian cinema. The Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival (DPIFF) has received a formal invitation for membership of the world’s prestigious Cinetour / World Film Festival Committee.Most notably, the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival will represent India at the World Film Festival Congress to be held in Istanbul, Turkey, in 2026. Renowned film festivals and artists from 63 countries will participate in this event, and DPIFF has received this honor on India’s behalf—a proud achievement for the country.Anil Mishra, a renowned figure in the Indian film industry and Managing Director of DPIFF, has once again raised the flag of Indian cinema on the world stage. His vision and dedication have not only given Indian films global recognition but also elevated Indian culture and art to new heights on the international stage.
The Cinetour Committee wrote in its letter
“As the Cinetour/World Film Festival Committee, we extend our respectful greetings to you. Numerous film festivals are held worldwide on various themes. All aim to strengthen the film and cinema industry. For this, the world needs a strong and cohesive Committee.”
The Cinetour Committee further stated that its objective is to build cultural bridges between countries by bringing together the world’s leading film festivals. In just one year, the Committee has grown into a strong global family with 64 member countries.The Committee is planning to organize the “World Film Festival Congress” in 2026, bringing together the world’s most prestigious film festivals and representatives.
At the end of the letter, the Committee stated
“We are proud to include a prestigious festival like yours in this important Committee. We present to you our official invitation for membership in the Cinetour family and await your approval.”
