Adrija Roy to get engaged on 25th January in a private ceremony!

Mumbai:Adrija Roy, who is currently seen playing Raahi in the popular TV show Anupamaa, is all set to begin a new chapter in her life. The actress will get engaged to her boyfriend, Thane -based businessman Vignuesh Iyer, on January 25. The ceremony will be a close-knit affair with only family members and close friends in attendance and will be held at Vignuesh’s farmhouse.Sharing how their love story began, Adrija says, “We first met in May last year at a common friend’s party. We instantly liked each other’s personalities, and he showed interest in getting to know me better. After that, we started talking on Instagram and decided to meet properly. We went on our first date in early June.Talking about what brought them closer, she adds, “I think it was our personalities. We are both very soft and down-to-earth. I always wanted to be with someone outside the industry, and he felt just right. We truly feel like soulmates.

Their shared love for animals also played a big role in strengthening their bond.

Vignuesh comes from a well-known business family. His father, Rajzu Ranganathan Iyer, is a respected businessman and the CMD of the JNB Group.The actress has taken a three-day leave from Anupamaa for her engagement. Even though she is an important part of the show, she says her production house Directors Kut has been very supportive.“My production house has always been extremely kind and understanding, especially during important moments in my life. Even for my engagement, they were very cooperative. They will plan the shoot in advance and manage with close shots. I have also invited my DKP team, and whoever can manage will come. I feel lucky to be part of such a caring team,” she says.When asked about wedding plans, Adrija shares that they are not in a hurry. “We are not getting married this year. He is South Indian and I am Bengali, so our cultures are very different. My dream is to have a wedding with both South Indian and Bengali traditions. That needs time and planning, so we are thinking of getting married in the next two years.”
