The Gujarat Metropolitan Court had also summoned Kejriwal and Singh.संस्थान की प्रतिष्ठा को क्षति पहुंची जनवरी में, सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने अरविंद केजरीवाल और संजय सिंह के खिलाफ मानहानि शिकायत पर ट्रायल कोर्ट के समक्ष कार्यवाही पर रोक लगा दी थी। पीयूष पटेल की ओर से दर्ज शिकायत के मुताबिक, दोनों नेताओं ने प्रेस कॉन्फ्रेंस में पीएम मोदी की डिग्री को लेकर सवाल उठाए थे. उन्होंने एक्स हैंडल पर भी ऐसे ही सवाल उठाए. साथ ही उन्होंने यूनिवर्सिटी को निशाना बनाते हुए कथित तौर पर अपमानजनक बयान दिया था. गुजरात यूनिवर्सिटी का कहना है कि इससे संस्थान की प्रतिष्ठा को नुकसान पहुंचा है.हाईकोर्ट ने आदेश रद्द कर दिया था पिछले साल हाई कोर्ट ने केंद्रीय सूचना आयोग (सीआईसी) के आदेश को रद्द कर दिया था. आदेश में पीएम मोदी को अपनी डिग्री के बारे में जानकारी देने का निर्देश दिया गया है. अदालत ने माना कि आरटीआई याचिका राजनीति से प्रेरित थी। इससे पहले केजरीवाल और संजय सिंह को हाई कोर्ट से बड़ा झटका लगा था. पिछले साल 11 अगस्त को केजरीवाल और संजय सिंह के खिलाफ मामले की कार्यवाही पर अंतरिम रोक लगाने की मांग वाली याचिका खारिज कर दी गई थी. गुजरात मेट्रोपॉलिटन कोर्ट ने भी केजरीवाल और सिंह को समन किया था।
