उत्तर प्रदेश के संभल में हुई हिंसा के बाद जमीयत उलेमा-ए-हिंद के अध्यक्ष मौलाना अरशद मदनी ने देश में बढ़ती सांप्रदायिक घटनाओं पर गहरी चिंता जताई है.मदनी ने संभल की घटना को मुसलमानों के खिलाफ साजिश का हिस्सा बताया और वक्फ कानून में बदलाव और मुसलमानों के अधिकारों पर हमलों की कड़ी निंदा की और इलाके में कई घरों को भी नुकसान पहुंचाया,इस घटना में तीन लोगों की मौत हो गई, जबकि कई पुलिसकर्मी घायल हो गए, जिनका इलाज चल रहा है. मौलाना मदनी ने इस घटना पर प्रतिक्रिया देते हुए कहा, ”यह बुरा है. पहले बाबरी मस्जिद, फिर बनारस की घटना और अब यह जामा मस्जिद का तीसरा मामला है. मस्जिदें 1947 के बाद जैसी थीं, वैसी ही रहेंगी. इसके बावजूद इस देश में सांप्रदायिकता बढ़ती जा रही है.” मुसलमानों को नुकसान पहुंचाने की कोशिश की जा रही है.”,मदनी ने वक्फ कानून में प्रस्तावित बदलावों पर भी नाराजगी जताई और कहा, ”वक्फ बिल के नए नियम मुसलमानों को नुकसान पहुंचाने वाले हैं. हमारे अधिकार छीने जा रहे हैं और सरकार ने इस मुद्दे पर किसी भी मौलाना, मुस्लिम से चर्चा नहीं की है.” यदि सरकार ने दारुल उलूम जैसे संस्थानों के प्रतिनिधियों को आमंत्रित किया होता तो एक बेहतर समाधान निकल सकता था।”
