Shops closed, attempt to jam, businessmen shot dead, police took charge of the march
Azamgarh: Last night in Kaptanganj Bazar in Kaptanganj police station area, a young man who was staying at a sweet shop was shot dead with a revolver. The boy’s right hand was injured in this incident. Aggrieved by this incident, the traders of the market protested by closing their shops on Thursday demanding strict action. They also tried to jam the wheel, but the police reached the spot and brought the situation under control. Police force was deployed in the market throughout the day. Shubham Gupta (18), a resident of the town, has a shop named Shree Sweets and Cake Palace on Ahraula Road. At around 7:30 pm on Wednesday, a young man came back to take ice cream while closing the shop. His activities were suspicious when he took the ice again. Meanwhile, the youth took out his revolver and fired. The bullet hit Shubham’s right wrist. He was injured by this. Other people of the town rushed and caught the guests in the street and washed them. The arrested youth Vishal Chaubey is a resident of Raniserai, Bhaupur. Handed over to the police after washing hard. Two other youths absconded with a Pulsar bike. Disgruntled shopkeepers protested against this incident by closing their shops till noon. In this regard, police station head Vivek Pandey said that the incident was carried out due to a land dispute. Three people have been named and two unknown ones have been injured against the younger sister of Julie Gupta. An arrest has been made. The search for the rest of the people continues.
