DK Films Presents ULKAA: A Mythic New Dawn for Indian

Mumbai, July 2025 – In a landmark move for Indian cinema, acclaimed creator and digital visionary Dushyant Kapoor has announced his theatrical debut with ULKAA – a high-concept superhero epic that launches the DK Superhero Universe (DKSU), India’s first independently built superhero cinematic universe.

With ULKAA, Kapoor brings to life a new kind of Indian superhero: not borrowed from Western archetypes, but born of mythology, emotion, and cosmic destiny. Written, directed, and produced by Kapoor under his banner DK Films LLP, this original venture promises to shatter conventions and place Indian superheroes firmly on the global map.

The film introduces Ulkaa, a cursed celestial warrior who returns from cosmic exile to battle vengeful gods and protect humanity. Possessing the immense power of asteroids, Ulkaa’s journey unfolds across realms of mythology, betrayal, and redemption – delivering a narrative that is as visually spectacular as it is spiritually rooted.

But Ulkaa is not alone. The film also brings together a never-before-seen superhero alliance – the Divya Guardians – comprising Mahakaal, Naari, Suitboy, Hion, and Ulkaa himself, setting the stage for a multi-film universe grounded in Indian storytelling.
“This isn’t just a film – it’s a cinematic universe born from cultural legacy and creative freedom,” says Dushyant Kapoor.
“Our heroes are mythic, emotional, flawed – and unapologetically Indian. ULKAA is just the beginning.”

The film’s teaser – with the chilling voiceover, “66 million years ago, a hero was cursed… and now he is freed” – has already ignited buzz online, hinting at a darker, more mythologically infused superhero experience. The first poster reveals a shadowed, glowing-eyed warrior with the tagline: “From the Creators of Suitboy”, instantly resonating with the fandom that made Kapoor a household name in the digital space.

Kapoor’s past creations have already broken barriers. Suitboy alone earned 150M+ views and led to a successful comic book series. Pehla Chakravyuh Chalava trended on major platforms like Disney+ Hotstar and Vyre Network (US), while Mahakaal, a homegrown cult icon, emerged from a viral Shaktimaan trailer to become a full-fledged phenomenon. His family drama Kavi Kasturi touched hearts with over 200M+ digital views.

Now, with ULKAA, Kapoor steps into uncharted cinematic territory – without the backing of major studios, yet with an unparalleled creative arsenal. This film is more than a debut; it’s a declaration of independence in a space long dominated by formula.

As Indian audiences await a superhero universe they can claim as their own, ULKAA stands ready to usher in a new era — bold, rooted, and visionary.

The cosmos is calling. And a new hero has answered.
