Mumbai:

Even without lyrics, music has the power to communicate, says actor Worship Khanna. The actor, who has been a part of shows like Kumkum Bhagya, Meri Doli Mere Angana, Ishq Subhan Allah and web series like Hello Jee, Cold Lassi and Chicken Masala and currently seen in show Pati Brahmachari, says that music has always held great significance in his life.

“Music is very important in my life. I feel music is a language of its own—it doesn’t matter if it has lyrics or not. A sound or a tune creates its own emotion and message. People who understand music deeply can truly connect with it. Music affects my mood a lot. I even listen to music during meditation. If I have a headache, I put on music. If I’m going to a party, music becomes a part of that too. Basically, it all depends on the mood. But every kind of music speaks its own language you don’t always need words to feel it,” he says.

The actor adds that he loves listening to music to uplift his mood as well. “Good music definitely lifts your mood. If you’re in a car listening to energetic or feel-good music, your energy and vibe change immediately. Music has the power to take you into a different zone. It boosts your mood and makes you feel better, no matter how your day is going. I completely agree with this,” he adds.

Talking about his favourite singers, he says, “My all-time favourite singers are Jagjit Singh and Arijit Singh. Jagjit Singh had a special kind of depth and roughness in his voice that touched the heart. His songs were full of emotions and meaning. I think one reason I love his music so much is because I grew up listening to him. My mom and other family members were hardcore fans. We had cassettes of all his ghazals at home. So, naturally, my taste in music also moved in that direction.”

He adds, “My favourite song is Lag Ja Gale .’Lag ja gale ke phir ye haseen raat ho na ho.’ This line connects deeply with me. If you ask me why, it’s because no one knows what will happen tomorrow. I truly believe in living in the present moment. So if we’re sharing a happy moment today, there’s no guarantee it will come again. That’s why this song feels so real and special to me. It reminds me to enjoy the now.”

As for remixes, he says, “Honestly, I’m not in favour of remakes. I like original music much more. Originals always have more feel and soul. I’m a hardcore fan of the 90s Shah Rukh Khan era songs like Dil To Pagal Hai, Hum Aapke Hain Koun, and others from that time. They had real feelings, real emotions. That’s the kind of music I still enjoy listening to today.”
