After Nearly a Decade, Pooja A Gor Returns to Non-Fiction with Tanza Talks’ ‘Journey of Legacy’
The actor and host ventures into long-form documentary storytelling with the JioHotstar series uncovering the people, ideas and journeys behind India’s leading educational institutions
Nearly a decade after her last non-fiction hosting appearance, actor and host *Pooja A Gor* is returning to the genre with Journey of Legacy, a long-form documentary series created and produced by *Manish KR, Founder and CEO of Tanza Talks. The project marks Tanza Talks’ first foray into OTT documentary storytelling and is set to stream on **JioHotstar. Hosted by Pooja, the series takes audiences beyond campuses, accolades and institutional milestones to uncover the stories, people and defining moments that have shaped some of India’s leading educational institutions. The first season has travelled across institutions including **DIT University, Dehradun; Bennett University, Greater Noida; SAGE University, Bhopal; LNCT, Bhopal; Quantum University, Roorkee; and VGU, Jaipur*, among others. Through each episode, the series brings together perspectives from founders, education leaders, faculty members and students, exploring themes of entrepreneurship, leadership, resilience, ambition and the changing landscape of higher education in India.
“What drew me to Journey of Legacy is that, at its heart, it is about people — the people who dream, build, lead and shape institutions over time. What stayed with me while making the show wasn’t just the scale of these universities, but the small, human moments behind them. A conversation with a student, a story from a teacher, or hearing a founder speak about a challenge they once faced can tell you more about a university than any number ever could. Every university we visited had its own personality, its own journey and, most importantly, its own people who shaped it. As a host, I’m excited to step into these worlds, discover stories I didn’t expect to find, meet the people behind them and take audiences along on that journey. I think that is what makes Journey of Legacy so special — these are not simply stories about universities; they are stories about people, dreams, perseverance and the journeys that turn them into legacies,” said Pooja A Gor.
Returning to non-fiction after nearly a decade, Pooja takes on a more immersive hosting role, travelling across institutions and interacting with the founders, educators, faculty members and students who have been part of their evolution. For Tanza Talks, the series represents a natural extension of its people-centric storytelling philosophy into long-form documentary content. Founded by Manish KR under Tanza Ventures India Pvt. Ltd., the platform has featured more than 200 personalities from India and around the world, spanning entrepreneurs, celebrities, Indian Army personnel, educators, artists, athletes and other voices with compelling stories to share.
“We often know an institution by its name, campus or achievements, but we rarely know the people and decisions behind its journey. The most interesting stories are usually found in the difficult years, the turning points and the people who continued building when success was still uncertain,” said *Manish KR, Founder and CEO, Tanza Talks. He added, “Our attempt with *Journey of Legacy is to document institutions through human stories rather than simply describe what they have achieved. When people understand why something was built and who built it, the story becomes far more meaningful.” Beyond documenting present-day achievements, Journey of Legacy also aims to preserve the stories and memories that have contributed to the evolution of these institutions, bringing together personal experiences, institutional histories and perspectives that may otherwise remain within archives or individual recollections. “Social media is extremely good at telling us what is happening now. Documentary storytelling can preserve why something mattered. Twenty years from today, we want these stories to still have relevance,” Manish added. With its first season now completed, Journey of Legacy brings together education, entrepreneurship, leadership and human-interest storytelling to offer audiences a deeper understanding of the people and pivotal moments behind institutions that have evolved into enduring legacies. The series is gearing up for its rollout on
