Mumbai:Bollywood actress Chahatt Khanna has always managed to create a positive impact, not just with her stellar work on-screen but also off-screen. She’s one of the most relatable celebrities around with whom people can develop an instant connection. On many occasions in the past, Chahatt has shared various interesting aspects and experiences related to women and their lifestyle and this time, the gorgeous and captivating actress is talking about something which the majority of women face during or after pregnancy. Yes, to address the ‘elephant in the room’, we are talking about stretch marks during and after pregnancy.

While stretch marks during and after pregnancy have forever been a problem with women, Chahatt reveals she managed to avoid that completely with some incredible hacks that everyone can follow easily. On being asked more about what those inputs are, she shares,

“Well, pregnancy is a miracle but let’s face it, it comes with a rollercoaster of changes, especially to your body. One of the most common concerns among women is stretch marks. Those tiny lines that silently creep in as your skin stretches.
I was no exception. I feared them. I anticipated them. But I didn’t get a single one. And today, I’m here to share how I managed to keep my skin stretch-mark free throughout both my pregnancies, and even through weight fluctuations. I feel the key is to understand your skin’s elasticity. It isn’t just a covering, it’s a living, breathing organ with an incredible ability to stretch and recover. But just like a rubber band, if stretched too far or too fast, it can tear beneath the surface and that’s how stretch marks appear. So before I began slathering on any product, I made it a point to understand what my skin needed. And in a nutshell, it came down to one thing: supporting elasticity from the outside and the inside.”

When asked about the daily ritual and mantra she followed, she revealed,

“From the very first trimester of pregnancy, I committed to a consistent skincare routine one that I never skipped, no matter how tired or busy I was. I applied bio oil or a trusted anti-stretch mark oil twice a day: morning and night. I focused on target areas aka the belly, breasts, thighs, hips, and lower back. I took about 2-3 minutes to massage the oil gently, improving circulation and absorption. On dry-skin days, I layered with a mild moisturizer or body butter for extra hydration. This wasn’t a fancy 10-step process. It was just simple, consistent love for my body and its changes.”

Dieting and overall hydration also plays a crucial role and when she was asked to share more about her role there, she added,

“Topical care is only half of it. The other half? What you put inside your body. I had lots of water. Hydrated skin is happy, stretchy skin. I consumed healthy fats like nuts, seeds, and avocados to support skin regeneration. To add to that, protein-rich foods to boost collagen production. I also had supplements like Vitamin E (with doctor’s approval) that nourish skin from within.”

Highlighting more about how every individual is different from another, Chahatt revealed,

“Now let me be real with you. Not every woman’s skin reacts the same way. Genetics do play a role, and some women may develop stretch marks even with all the care in the world. And that’s okay. They are natural, beautiful reminders of your strength and growth. But as far as what I know, consistent care can significantly reduce the chances or lessen the visibility of stretch marks. Prevention is any day better than cure. Stretch marks often show up after the skin has already been damaged. That’s why early action is key. If you are pregnant or on a weight loss journey or simply planning for body changes, start supporting your skin before the stretching begins. Don’t wait until your skin feels itchy or tight that’s often a sign of stress and dryness.”

Being the positive personality that she is, she concludes with the note of how one should celebrate their body and support it through embracing the positive change, she shares,

“I say this because I know the fear and frustration that comes with body changes. But I also know the power of intentional self-care. You deserve to feel beautiful, confident, and proud of your body, stretch marks or not. If this encourages even one woman to start caring for her skin early, it’s worth it. Your skin tells your story, make it a beautiful one. Remember, skincare isn’t vanity, it’s love.”
