Mau. Mrs. Chandravati Devi, 98-year-old wife of freedom fighter and former minister late Ram Vilas Pandey, died of cardiac arrest late on Sunday evening. As soon as the news of this spread, a wave of mourning spread among social workers and politicians. His elder son Ramesh Chandra Pandey lit the funeral pyre at Mukti Dham in Doharighat. There was a long queue of people reaching his residence near the block of Ghosi Nagar to express their condolences. After reaching his residence, people expressed their condolences and prayed to God to give strength to the family members in this hour of grief. घोसी।मऊ। स्वतंत्रता संग्राम सेनानी एवं पूर्व मंत्री स्व रामविलास पांडेय की 98 वर्षीय पत्नी श्रीमती चंद्रावतीदेवी का रविवार की देर शाम में हृदयगति रुकने के कारण निधन हो गया ।जिसकी खबर लगते ही समाजसेवियों एवं राजनीतिज्ञों में शोक की लहर दौड़ गई। दोहरीघाट मे मुक्ति धाम में इनके बड़े पुत्र रमेशचन्द्र पांडेय ने मुखाग्नि दी।इनके घोसी नगर के ब्लाक के समीप स्थित आवास पहुंचकर शोक संवेदनाएं प्रकट करने वालों का ताता लगा रहा ।इनके आवास पहुंच कर लोगों ने शोक संवेदनाएं प्रकट करने के साथ ही ईश्वर से प्रार्थना की कि इस दुःख की घड़ी में परिजनों को सहनशक्ति दें ।सूचना मिलते ही उनके घर पहुंचने वालों में जिला पंचायत अध्यक्ष मनोज राय,क्षेत्रीय महामंत्री सुनील कुमार गुप्त, चेयरमैन मुन्ना प्रसाद गुप्ता,आनंद चौधरी,पूर्व ब्लाक प्रमुख डा सुजीत कुमार सिंह,ब्लाक प्रमुख डा रामकृष्ण यादव,कांग्रेस के पूर्व जिलाध्यक्ष इंतेखाब आलम, अब्दुल अव्वल, चंद्रशेखर,ओमप्रकाश रंजन,देवेंद्र कुमार,कांग्रेस जिलाध्यक्ष राजमंगल यादव,पूर्व ब्लाक प्रमुख जयहिंद यादव,पूर्व चेयरमैन वसीम इकबाल उर्फ चुन्नू खान,आफताब अहमद, अंसार खान आदि शामिल रहे।
