World’s Largest Free Old Age Home to Support 5,000 Elderly People
Mumbai/Rajkot : “When family support fades away, what elderly people need the most is dignity, care, and a sense of belonging.” This philosophy has become the identity of the ‘Vinubhai Bachubhai Nagrecha Campus’ Sadbhavana Old Age Home in Rajkot, Gujarat. Representatives of the organization say their mission is not just to provide shelter, but to offer homeless, sick, and bedridden senior citizens the warmth and affection of a family.
According to the organization, for the past ten years it has been providing completely free care and support to childless, differently-abled, cancer-stricken, and coma patients. Currently, more than 700 elderly residents are living at the facility, including a large number of bedridden patients.
The representatives stated, “A new campus being developed at a cost of ₹500 crore will become one of the world’s largest free old age homes, with accommodation facilities for 5,000 needy senior citizens. Our goal is to ensure that no elderly person feels abandoned, lonely, or neglected.”

The old age home is equipped with 24-hour medical services, a physiotherapy center, satsang hall, temple, cultural activities, and modern residential facilities. The organization believes that elderly people need not only medicines, but also respect, emotional support, and meaningful human connection.
The institution has appealed to the public that if they come across any helpless or abandoned elderly person in their surroundings, they should help connect them with Sadbhavana Old Age Home.

संस्था के अनुसार, पिछले दस वर्षों से यहां निःसंतान, दिव्यांग, कैंसर और कोमा से जूझ रहे बुज़ुर्गों की पूरी तरह नि:शुल्क सेवा की जा रही है। वर्तमान में 700 से अधिक बुज़ुर्ग यहां रह रहे हैं, जिनमें बड़ी संख्या बिस्तर पर पड़े मरीजों की है। प्रतिनिधियों ने बताया, “500 करोड़ रुपये की लागत से बन रहा नया परिसर दुनिया के सबसे बड़े नि:शुल्क वृद्धाश्रमों में शामिल होगा, जहां 5000 जरूरतमंद बुज़ुर्गों के रहने की व्यवस्था होगी। हमारा प्रयास है कि कोई भी बुज़ुर्ग अकेलापन या उपेक्षा महसूस न करे।”

वृद्धाश्रम में 24 घंटे मेडिकल सुविधा, फिजियोथेरेपी सेंटर, सत्संग हॉल, मंदिर, सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रम और आधुनिक रहने की व्यवस्था उपलब्ध कराई जा रही है। संस्था का मानना है कि बुज़ुर्गों को सिर्फ़ दवा नहीं, बल्कि सम्मान, संवाद और भावनात्मक सहारा भी चाहिए। संस्था ने लोगों से अपील की है कि यदि आसपास कोई बेसहारा या लाचार बुज़ुर्ग दिखाई दे, तो उन्हें सदभावना वृद्धाश्रम तक पहुंचाने में सहयोग करें।
