Gorakhpur's Bhanu Pratap Singh Alias Bablu Dies in Encounter After Allegedly Firing at STF Team

The campaign against criminals in Uttar Pradesh has achieved a major success. Bhanu Pratap Singh was killed in an encounter between the STF Prayagraj unit and the notorious criminal. This encounter took place in the Ayodhya area, where the STF team had been searching for him for a long time.

The STF Prayagraj unit received information about Bhanu Pratap Singh’s presence. Following this, the team, led by Inspector-in-Charge J.P. Rai, cordoned off the area. According to police, when the STF attempted to stop the suspect, he opened fire on the police team. Bhanu Pratap Singh was seriously injured in the ensuing encounter. He was taken to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

More than 40 cases were registered against Bhanu Pratap Singh.
According to police records, Bhanu Pratap Singh was a notorious criminal in the state and had a bounty declared on him by police in several districts. The Azamgarh police had announced a reward of 1 lakh rupees on him, while the Ambedkar Nagar police had announced a reward of 50 thousand rupees and the Gorakhpur police had announced a reward of 15 thousand rupees. Thus, the total reward announced on him was 1 lakh 65 thousand rupees.

Bhanu Pratap Singh alias Bablu was a resident of Vikhanpur village in the Belghat police station area of Gorakhpur district. He had been active in the criminal world for a long time and posed a major challenge to the police. Nearly 40 cases related to murder, robbery, extortion, dacoity, and other serious crimes have been registered against him in various districts.
