Azamgarh: Home Guard Soldier Sanjay Pandey Electrocuted to Death During Farming

Azamgarh. Sanjay Pandey (56), a resident of Ekauna village, under the Chakrapanpur Gram Sabha of the Jahanganj police station area of the district, and a Home Guard soldier, died after being electrocuted on Monday morning. The incident occurred while he was tending his fields. Upon receiving the news of the accident, the family was devastated. According to reports, Sanjay Pandey had gone to his fields around 7 a.m. on Monday. The fields were filled with water due to irrigation. When current somehow passed through the pole attached to the electric pole near the field. Upon coming into contact with the pole, he was electrocuted and collapsed on the spot. Bystanders rushed him to the local Government Medical College and Super-Facility Hospital for immediate treatment, where doctors declared him dead after examination. Upon receiving the information, local outpost in-charge Abhishek Singh arrived at the scene and, after completing the necessary procedures, sent the body to the mortuary at the district hospital for a post-mortem. The deceased, Sanjay Pandey, was posted as a Home Guard in the Mehnagar area’s PRB-6207 and was also a driver for the UP-112 vehicle service. He left behind his wife, Sanju Pandey, and two sons. His elder son, Gyan Prakash, works in Kolkata, and his younger son, Prem Prakash, works in Mumbai. Both are married. Upon receiving the news of their father’s death, both sons left for home. Sanjay Pandey’s death has brought a mountain of grief upon his family. His wife and other relatives are inconsolable, weeping profusely. Villagers and local residents have expressed their deep condolences, describing him as a friendly and simple person.
