An alcoholic husband slits his wife’s throat, killing her seven months earlier

A heartbreaking incident has come to light from Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh. Just seven months after their wedding, a newlywed husband slit her throat with a sharp-edged weapon. The accused husband fled the scene after the incident.

This incident occurred on Sunday in Hajipur village, within the Syana police station area. Monu, a resident of the village, married Geeta, 25, in November 2025. According to villagers, Monu was addicted to alcohol, and this often led to daily disputes in the family. On Sunday morning, another argument erupted, and Monu attacked Geeta with a sharp-edged weapon. After slitting Geeta’s throat and killing her, the accused husband fled the house. Monu’s parents, returning from the fields, were horrified to see Geeta lying dead in a pool of blood. Hearing the screams, villagers gathered at the scene and informed the police. Police officers, including Superintendent of Police (City) Abhishek Pratap Ajay, arrived. The forensic team collected evidence from the scene. The police sent the body for post-mortem and began searching for the accused husband.

 

Married seven months ago, who knew the outcome would be like this?

 

Monu and Geeta were married in November 2025. It had only been seven months since their marriage. According to family and villagers, the couple had been constantly at loggerheads since their marriage. Villagers said no one imagined that the dispute would escalate to such a serious level that the newlyweds would lose their lives.

 

Officers arrived at the scene, forensic team gathered evidence

 

Kotwali police immediately arrived at the scene and began an investigation. Superintendent of Police (City) Abhishek Pratap Ajay and other officers inspected the scene. The forensic team collected necessary evidence from the scene and began an investigation from all angles. Police also interviewed people nearby.

 

The accused husband fled the house after the murder.

 

According to police, the accused husband, Monu, fled the scene after committing the crime. Police are raiding possible hideouts in search of him. The weapon used in the murder has not yet been recovered. SP City Abhishek Pratap Ajay stated that four police teams have been formed to arrest the accused. The teams are continuously raiding possible locations and searching for the accused. The accused will be arrested soon and the case will be solved.
