Gambhirpur police on Friday arrested a vicious miscreant with illegal pistol and live cartridges near Masudpatti Madaiya of Gambhirpur police station area of Azamgarh district.
It is said that sub-inspector Omkarnath Pandey May Hamrahiyaan along with constable Vinod Verma and constable Ajay Kumar were checking vehicles at Fariha turn that information was received by the informer that a miscreant was standing near Masood Patti Madaiya carrying illegal weapons, if done quickly can be caught. Believing the informer’s information, Sub-Inspector Omkarnath Pandey reached the place told along with his companions and saw that a person was coming towards Fariha turn, as soon as he saw the policemen, he again started walking towards Masood Patti with long steps and Then started running. The policemen ran and caught the said accused. On being asked his name and address, he told his name as Abul Cash Kankali s/o Nanhe Kankali village Muhammadpur Bhitia. On search, an illegal 315 bore pistol and one cartridge were found tucked in the right belt of his waist lungi. Taking necessary action, the police sent him to jail.
