Rahul Gandhi strongly condemns attack on Abhishek Banerjee, calls for defense of democracy

Calling the incident an attack on democracy and the public mandate, Rahul Gandhi said that political differences cannot be used as a means of violence.
Reacting on the social media platform, Rahul Gandhi said that the attack on an MP is not just an attack on an individual, but an attack on the voice of millions of people who elected them to Parliament. He called the incident a “despicable form of vendetta politics” by the BJP and demanded strict action against the culprits.
Rahul Gandhi appealed to both the central and West Bengal governments to immediately arrest the culprits and ensure the safety of all public representatives, regardless of their political affiliation.
