The late Arshad Siddiqui was originally a resident of Barauli village, located in the Phulpur development block of Azamgarh district. The late Arshad Siddiqui was the son of Ilyas Azmi, Chairman of the Red Crescent Society of India and former MP, and the younger brother of Dr. Aleem Siddiqui. He was known far and wide for his simplicity, friendly nature, love of humanity, and service to society.

Arshad Siddiqui dedicated a large part of his life to helping the vulnerable, needy, and underprivileged sections of society.
