From 50 Rejections to Multi-Crore Mogul: Joydeep Dutta’s Inspiring Ascent
Joydeep Dutta’s narrative stands as a testament to the power of resilience and self-determination. Overcoming a barrage of professional rejections and significant financial setbacks, Dutta has successfully established a multi-crore business empire, Affnosys India.
Born on March 26, 1991, in Manbazar, West Bengal, Dutta pursued a conventional educational path, earning a Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) from Asansol Bidhan Chandra College in 2011 and a Master of Computer Applications (MCA) in 2014. His academic qualifications, however, did not translate into immediate employment success. He encountered over 50 rejections from prospective employers, despite achieving a 90% score in Capgemini’s off-campus test, attributed to perceived communication skill deficiencies.
Undeterred by these setbacks, Dutta ventured into entrepreneurship, focusing on blogging and digital marketing. This phase was marked by financial instability and operational challenges. In 2019, he founded Affnosys India, initiating operations with 131 work-from-home interns. However, the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 severely disrupted his business, leading to substantial financial losses.
In 2023, Dutta demonstrated remarkable resilience by re-establishing Affnosys India in Jamshedpur. He strategically diversified the company’s services, focusing on brand management, influencer marketing, eCommerce, and IT services. This strategic pivot, coupled with his persistent efforts, resulted in the transformation of the struggling startup into a successful multi-crore enterprise, employing numerous individuals across India.
Dutta’s commitment extends beyond business success. He actively engages in campus recruitment drives in Rajasthan, providing employment opportunities and mentorship to young talents.
