Police Hunt Absconding Scorpio Driver After Double Fatality in Azamgarh

Azamgarh. Two young men died on the spot in a horrific road accident late Sunday night near Chhittupatti village in the Sarayameer police station area. A speeding Scorpio hit their bike, forcing them to fall to their deaths. Police arrived on the scene and took the bodies into custody and sent them to the district hospital for post-mortem. The driver fled with the vehicle after the accident and is currently being sought. The deceased have been identified as Mithlesh Yadav (27), a resident of Chakkot Khanqah, and Sachin Kumar (25), a resident of Gahukhor Hasanpur. Mithlesh was reportedly on his way to a private nursing home in Sanjarpur to visit a relative. His friend Sachin Kumar was driving the bike. Around 11:30 p.m. Sunday night, when they reached Chhittupatti village, just before the Sanjarpur market, a speeding Scorpio hit their bike from behind. The impact was so severe that both men, along with their bikes, fell to the road and died on the spot. Hearing the sound of the accident, nearby villagers rushed to the scene and informed the police. Police took both bodies into custody and sent them for post-mortem. According to family members, Mithlesh Yadav was preparing for the SSC exam and was the youngest of three brothers and two sisters. Sachin Kumar, the youngest of four brothers, was a driver. The untimely deaths of both have caused a shock in the families and an atmosphere of mourning in the entire area. Station in-charge Bhuvnesh Choubey stated that the Scorpio driver fled with the vehicle after the accident. Footage from nearby CCTV cameras is being examined to identify him. Police have registered a case against the unknown driver and initiated an investigation.
