NIA raids across the country, arrest two messages of Mohammad from Amravati and Bhiwandi
Bhiwandi – The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has conducted major raids in radical cases related to Jaish-e-Mohammed. According to sources, two suspects have been detained from Amravati and Bhiwandi in Maharashtra under this operation.NIA arrested a youth named Kamran Ansari from Khoni village, a village adjacent to Bhiwandi city, in the early hours of Thursday. It is being told that Kamran was living in the same area for several days. At the same time, another youth from Chhaya Nagar area of Amravati was detained, though his name has not been made public yet.Earlier, the NIA had also raided the houses of five suspects in the ISIS Maharashtra module case on June 28, 2023. During this time, electronic gadgets and documents related to ISIS were recovered. Investigation revealed that the accused were actively trying to promote the anti-India agenda of ISIS and radicalize the youth.The arrests of people involved in terrorist activities in and around Bhiwandi in Thane district in the last few years have raised the concerns of security agencies. In 2014, four youths from Kalyan joined ISIS, while in 2022, three PFI officials were arrested from Bhiwandi. The latest action by the NIA shows that efforts are on to root out the network of terrorist organizations.
