Azamgarh: Upset with linking the name of a lawyer with the state-level designated mafia Kuntu Singh gang, advocates of the Civil Bar Association took to the streets on Tuesday to express their protest. The advocates raised slogans against the police and the administration. They said that the police arbitrarily associated the name of a fellow advocate with the Kuntu gang and made him a gangster. Sarfraz Ahmed, a resident of Bardiha village in Jeonpur, is the lawyer of Sarfraz Ahmed Diwani, on behalf of the police. The action of Gangster Act has been carried out in connection with the Kuntu Singh gang. Disgruntled with the working style of the police, advocates of Civil Bar Association came out on the road and jammed the wheel. During this time, the advocates raised slogans against the police and the administration. After half an hour of jam, the advocates decided to stay away from judicial work for the whole day. Advocates said that fellow advocate Sarfraz Ahmed is being framed in village politics. Pradhan has given a prayer letter against him. The police registered an FIR against Sarfaraz regarding this. His name is being associated with the Kuntu Singh gang and he is being labeled a gangster. If the police does not take it back, we will be forced to strike.
