As part of the special Swachh Bharat Abhiyan 5.0 campaign being celebrated across the Varanasi Division, the New Loco Railway Colony in Lahartara, Varanasi Division, was transformed into a green park by extensively cleaning vacant land and planting ornamental plants. Divisional Railway Manager Ashish Jain inaugurated this green park on October 19, 2025, at 11:00 am by having the children of railway employees cut the ribbon. The green park in the New Loco Colony, located in the Varanasi Division of North Eastern Railway, was constructed with the support of Rail Vikas Nigam Limited. Executive Director, RVNL Vikas Chandra, Chief Project Manager, RVNL Ashutosh Shukla, Senior Divisional Engineer/Coordination Vikas Kumar Singh, and Assistant City Engineer Sunil Kumar Pandey played an active role in its construction. This green park features various swings for children to play on. The park also features seating arrangements, including a morning walk track, for employees, senior citizens, and the elderly. This park will create a new identity for the residents of the New Railway Loco Colony and provide them with an opportunity to be close to nature. The park features a jogging track, a children's playground, and special play equipment. A variety of flowers and plants have been planted in the park, enhancing its beauty. Environmentally friendly dustbins and ample seating have also been provided. The park also offers improved lighting and drinking water. The Divisional Railway Manager, addressing the park's inauguration, said, "This park is an important step in the interest of railway employees and their children. We hope that this park will not only purify the environment but will also develop into a green haven where employees of all ages can come to relax and enjoy nature." He appealed to the employees living in the Railway Colony to ensure its cleanliness and maintenance after the park's inauguration, as this park will benefit them for a long time. Additional Divisional Railway Manager (Infrastructure), Ajay Singh, Public Relations Officer, Ashok Kumar, Varanasi, along with various officials and railway employees living in the railway colony were present on the occasion along with their children.
वाराणसी। मऊ।वाराणसी मंडल पर मनाए जा रहे विशेष स्वच्छता अभियान-5.0 के अंतर्गत वाराणसी मंडल की लहरतारा स्थित न्यू लोको रेलवे कॉलोनी में खाली पड़ी भूमि की व्यापक साफ-सफाई कर सजावटी पौधों का रोपण कर हरित पार्क का स्वरूप दिया गया है। 19 अक्टूबर,2025 को पूर्वाह्न 11:00 बजे इस हरित पार्क का उद्घाटन मंडल रेल प्रबंधक आशीष जैन ने रेलवे कर्मचारियों के बच्चों से फीता काटवाकर कराया।
पूर्वोतर रेलवे के वाराणसी मंडल पर स्थित न्यू लोको कालोनी में हरित पार्क का निर्माण रेल विकास निगम लिमिटेड के सहयोग से किया गया है। इसके निर्माण में एक्सेकुटिव डिरेक्टर, आर वी एन एल विकास चन्द्रा,मुख्य परियोजना प्रबंधक आर वी एन एल आशुतोष शुक्ला, वरिष्ठ मण्डल इंजीनियर/समन्वय विकास कुमार सिंह एवं सहायक नगर इंजीनियर सुनील कुमार पाण्डेय की सक्रिय भूमिका निभाई है।
इस हरित पार्क छोटे बच्चों के लिए खेलने के लिये विभिन्न प्रकार के झूलों व्यवस्था है। इस पार्क में कर्मचारियों,वरिष्ठ नागरिकों व बुजुगों के लिए मॉर्निंग वॉक ट्रैक समेत बैठने की व्यवस्था है।
यह पार्क न्यू रेलवे लोको कॉलोनी के वासियों के लिए एक नई पहचान बनेगा और उन्हें प्रकृति के करीब रहने का अवसर देगा। इस पार्क में जॉगिंग ट्रैक, बच्चों के लिए खेल का मैदान और खेलने के लिए विशेष खेल उपकरण लगाये गए हैं।
पार्क में विभिन्न प्रकार के फूल और पौधे लगाए गए हैं, जो इसकी सुंदरता को और भी बढ़ा देते हैं।
पर्यावरण के अनुकूल कूड़ेदान और पर्याप्त बैठने की व्यवस्था भी की गई है। पार्क में बेहतर प्रकाश व्यवस्था और पीने के पानी की सुविधा भी उपलब्ध है।
मंडल रेल प्रबंधक ने पार्क के उद्घाटन के अवसर पर संबोधित करते हुए बताया कि, “यह पार्क रेलवे कर्मचारियों एवं उनके बच्चों के हित मे उठाया गया एक महत्वपूर्ण कदम है। हमें उम्मीद है कि यह पार्क पर्यावरण को शुद्धता प्रदान करने के साथ-साथ एक हरियाली केंद्र के रूप में विकसित होगा, जहाँ सभी उम्र के कर्मचारी आकर आराम कर सकेंगे और प्रकृति का आनंद ले सकेंगे।”
उन्होंने रेलवे कॉलोनी में रहने वाले कर्मचारियों से अपील की है पार्क के उद्घाटन के बाद इसकी स्वच्छता और रख रखाव का ध्यान रखें तभी यह पार्क लम्बे समय तक आपको लाभान्वित करेगा ।
