Anchor Kashyata Bhatia on Valentine’s Day: Celebrating Love Through Work, Family, Faith and Self-Care

For actor, presenter and voice-over artist Kashyata Bhatia, Valentine’s Day isn’t about elaborate gestures or adhering to the clichés often associated with the occasion. Instead, it is a deeply personal celebration—one where love is defined not by extravagance but by authenticity, comfort and the moments that truly matter.

In the entertainment industry, schedules rarely pause for holidays, and Kashyata embraces that reality with grace. “Mostly it’s a working day,” she says, acknowledging that her professional commitments often take precedence. But she isn’t someone who feels the need to force the day into something it doesn’t naturally become. Instead, she allows it to unfold in its own simple, sincere way.

When she does get time away from shoots and anchoring duties, she gravitates toward the people and places that bring her the purest form of joy. “I like spending time with my bestie or else with my mumma and paying my visit to the temple and gaushala—the purest form of love,” she shares. For Kashyata, Valentine’s Day is as much about emotional grounding as it is about affection. Time with her mother, moments of prayer and quiet interactions with animals connect her to a deeper, more soulful sense of love—one that nurtures rather than demands.

Kashyata doesn’t believe in following every ritual or trend associated with the day. “Not all, I do what makes me happy,” she says simply. To her, the essence of love lies in freedom—the freedom to choose what brings peace, satisfaction and genuine joy.

Some of her most cherished Valentine’s Days haven’t involved romantic dinners at all. “Some Valentines have been during my travels and catching up with besties,” she recalls fondly, proving that companionship and laughter are equally worthy forms of celebration. In fact, she views love as something so abundant that it doesn’t need to be tied to a date. “Spending time on any day is a Valentine’s Day for me.”

And of course, she believes in showing love to the most important person—herself. Kashyata’s idea of self-care is wonderfully relatable: “Pampering sessions at the salon is the perfect treat,” she says, whether it’s a soothing hair spa or an indulgent beauty ritual. Pair that with “a nice movie and some delicious meal,” and she finds bliss in simplicity.
