According to reports, 70-year-old village resident Jagdamba Prasad Yadav was sleeping as usual at a tubewell located about 300 meters from his home. His 25-year-old grandson, Ankit, was sleeping in his house with his maternal grandmother, Phulmati, and two brothers. At around 2 a.m., an unknown attacker entered the house and repeatedly attacked Ankit with an axe. Hearing the sound of the attack, Phulmati woke up. She immediately woke Ankit’s two brothers, and the seriously injured Ankit was taken to the Community Health Center in Nagpur, Ambedkar Nagar district, for treatment, where doctors declared him dead.
When family members arrived at the tubewell to report Ankit’s death, they found Jagdamba Prasad Yadav’s body lying in a pool of blood. He had multiple deep wounds on his neck and body, inflicted by a sharp weapon. This caused panic in the entire village, and a large number of villagers quickly gathered at the scene.
Upon receiving information about the incident, Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural) Chirag Jain arrived at the scene with police forces.
