Demand for discussion in Rajya Sabha on the statement of Allahabad High Court judge

New Delhi: The issue of the alleged controversial statement given by the Allahabad High Court judge was raised in the Rajya Sabha on Thursday. Congress MP Renuka Chaudhary demanded a discussion under Rule 267 on the statement given by the Allahabad High Court judge. However, the Chairman did not allow discussion on this topic. He said that it cannot be discussed under Rule 267. The Chairman said that the rule is very clear in this context, which has been made by us. It is worth noting that Allahabad High Court judge Justice Shekhar Kumar Yadav had given this alleged controversial statement in a program of Vishwa Hindu Parishad’s legal cell held in Prayagraj recently. Congress’ Renuka Chaudhary wanted to register protest on this statement and discuss it in the House, but she was not allowed to do so. The opposition, demanding discussion on other issues including the Allahabad High Court judge, had also given notices under Rule 267 on many other topics, but all of them were rejected. The opposition objected to this and uproar started in the House. When the opposition protested, Leader of the House and Union Minister JP Nadda said that the decision of the Chair cannot be questioned in this manner. He said that if this is done then it is a contempt of both the Chair and the House. Nadda said that Leader of the Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge condemned the Chair by holding a press conference. This shows the way to a wrong tradition and his move should be condemned. The opposition has given a notice of no-confidence motion against the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha. On this issue, most of the constituent parties of the India Block came together on a platform in Delhi on Wednesday. Here, Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said that today there are less rules and more politics in the House. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan had said that I do not belong to any party. But we regret that today due to the biased attitude of the Chairman, we have to bring a no-confidence motion. Kharge had said that the Chairman sees the opposition leaders as opponents. JP Nadda also said in the Rajya Sabha on Thursday that the official handle of the Indian National Congress, Rajya Sabha Chairman, has been called a cheer leader. No amount of condemnation is enough for this. Along with this, JP Nadda once again said in the House that this country wants to know what is the relationship of senior Congress leader Sonia Gandhi with George Soros. In response to this, Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge said that the ruling party is making such allegations to mislead the House.
